"Golden crosses are late" is half right
The cross itself is late by construction — it is an average of what already happened, so it cannot be early. That part is simply true.
What I think is wrong is the conclusion people draw from it, which is that averages are useless. I do not use the cross as an entry. I use where price sits relative to the averages as context, and the slope as a description of the last N candles. Neither of those needs to be early.
If you need the cross to be a signal, yes, it is late. If you need it to describe the state, it is fine.

Half agree. But "context" is doing a lot of work in that argument. If the tool never generates a decision, how would you ever find out it was wrong?
Also worth saying that in a range the cross fires constantly and means nothing. Whether it is "late" is the wrong question there; it is simply the wrong tool.
