Morning Star
BullishReliability: MediumAlso called · morning doji star
A three-candle bullish reversal: long bearish → small body → long bullish.
How to spot it
- The middle candle has a small body
- The third candle recovers at least half of the first body
Why this shape forms
A large down candle, a small one, then a large up candle. The small middle candle is where the balance broke, and the third confirms it.
Where it actually means something
It belongs at the base of a downtrend. The three candles are read as one event, never individually.
What else to check
The third candle should recover at least half the first candle body. Falling short usually means it only looks like the pattern.
This means you're wrong
If the third candle's recovery is shallow, don't treat it as a signal.
The mistake beginners make
Entering early on the second candle.
Easy to confuse with
A doji in the middle raises the reliability. A large middle candle makes it just ordinary chop.
